I-Prep opened the season with a close, hard-fought contest against St. Michael's of Ontario, Canada, in the Wilson Invitational Tip-Off Tournament. The Presidents rallied in the fourth quarter from as much as 17 points behind to make the final three minutes a riveting affair, before bowing to St. Michael's, 60-53. I-Prep was led by senior All WNY forward, Emir Lindsay, who turned in a double double scoring 27 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Lindsay also blocked 2 shots and garnered 2 steals for the Presidents. Senior guard Damone Lee heated up in the second half helping to spur the comeback by scoring 8 points and making 3 assists. President point guard Jaydan Daniels had 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists for I-Prep, and sophomore center Raymond Jackson was a force in the interior, pulling in 11 rebounds and scoring 9 points for the Presidents. Senior Bishara Lott scored 2 points and had 3 rebounds and senior guard Jose Luna made 4 steals to facilitate transition scoring for the Presidents. I-Prep will face Buffalo Culinary/Emerson in the tournament consolation Saturday afternoon.
